The anticipation is high, as the golden eye currently pops up all over Zurich. Ahead of the 13th Zurich Film Festival and with it the 3rd «IWC Filmmaker Award» in support of young Swiss filmmakers, we have created scenes from a fictional spy thriller together with the well-known Swiss photographer Cyrill Matter.
Who didn’t at one point in his childhood dream of becoming a spy? In a world full of secrets and no one to trust, a citizen of the world yet undiscovered by public eye, Moritz and I characterize two mysterious, secretive and elegant agents. A gun hidden in the pocket of the coat, secret documents carried in a briefcase and hidden functions in the watches they’re wearing – everything is possible. Think of it as a trailer to a longer story, as we’re unsure whom they’re working for and whether their intentions are good or bad.
As an homage to Zurich as film location and inspired by John le Carré’s «Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy» we shot this editorial for the film magazine NZZ Frame in collaboration with IWC Schaffhausen. You can find the full story including a short interview with us about the importance of supporting Swiss filmmakers, the Swiss film in general and the Zurich Film Festival in the edition 15 of NZZ Frame.
