Bo Phut Resort & Spa Samui

All pictures taken with the Samsung NX300. Editing by Moritz Lips.

#ThrowbackThursday to a few weeks ago on Koh Samui, Thailand. We were staying nearly two weeks at the Bo Phut Resort & Spa, which was recommended to us and we surely weren’t disappointed. Up on arrival they would serve you a refreshing drink and after the check-in you’d get a 15 minutes jet-lag massage to release the stress from your travel. The staff was always very friendly, attentive and helpful – just like everybody else in Thailand. In fact, I’ve never met so nice people, which is kind of sad, but than again positive for Thailand.

The hotel is in walking distance to Fisherman’s Village where you’ll find a variety of good restaurants and small shops. Krua Bophut was definitively the best restaurant we had eaten at in those days. You will be sitting at the beach, under the palm trees, looking at the stars and moon while having a delicious dinner, so beautiful.
And the best bar you ask? Without doubt the Coco Tam’s. At the beach, amazing music, great drinks and a fantastic “fire show” by three talented young artists. But if you’re looking for parties you’ll probably have to go to Chaweng beach (20 minutes by car) or wait for the Full Moon Party on Koh Pha Ngan, which is once a month.

Otherwise the hotel is equipped with the usual things such as a gym and a really cozy pool area. Having a rich breakfast on the terrace with a view at the sea was morning for morning a delight, definitively missing that! Enough writing, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves..

Every time the housekeepers had been there to make up our room they decorated it with fresh flowers.

Essentials as hauntingly white Europeans: Daylong SPF 50+ sunscreen and Nivea après sun lotion.

The flora at this hotel is stunning! Colorful flowers and trees everywhere. Especially in the evening when they started to smell and you’d walk back to your room from a day at the beach it was like walking through natures perfumery.

The reception of the hotel was entirely open with only a roof. Wouldn’t mind working in this peaceful environment. Remember my office picture on Instagram?

Massimo Dutti white shirt (similar here), H&M fire red swimming trunks and Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses

Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag on our terrace.

Some of the footwear I had brought with me. From left to right: Navyboot sandals, n.d.c. made by hand espadrilles and hand painted Converse sneakers (memory of the Full Moon Party on Koh Pha Ngan)

Wormland t-shirt (found at Urban Outfitters), Maddison paisley printed swimming trunks,Garrett Leight “Brooks” sunglasses

Every room was equipped with essentials such as a beach bag, umbrellas and other useful stuff.

Protection from sun is so important! Especially since Thailand is closer to the equator and therefore the sun is much stronger. There were so many tourists turning red after only one day in the sun. I was only sunbathing after 4 pm yet still wearing Daylong SPF 50+. Also essential for sun protection are sunglasses, mine are from VIU Eyewear, and a sun hat, like the one pictured above from Borsalino.
