FENDI SS 2015

Fendi held their fashion show on Monday 23rd of June on Via Andrea Solari in Milan. Why do I know? Because in this area there are a ton of fashion brands like Ermenegildo Zegna, Belstaff, Moncler and Stone Island just to name a few and when I took the tram back to the metro station one day I noticed the FENDI sign above the entrance. From outside it doesn't look Fendi-esque at all, but inside is their show space. I was in this area again for another casting and just had to go there even though the show already had started (I knew, because I stalked their Twitter-feed). So while I was waiting together with the street style photographers for the show to end and get a glimpse at the illustrious guests of the show I was even snapped myself, though I cannot find my picture anywhere in this world wide web! Anyway, after the show all the editors of magazines rushed out to catch the next fashion show, followed by the bloggers and / or others who weren't in a hurry - amongst them Matthew Zorpas of TheGentlemanBlogger.com and Denni Elias of Chicmuse.com - and last, but not least, some seemingly famous Asians I didn't know. I've always enjoyed observing the fashion crowd before and after a fashion show, because they are all like: "I'm just standing here around, typing something into my phone while looking uber-cool and no, I didn't notice I was being shot by a street style photographer, what a coincidence!"
So that's that. Maybe I should start writing about the collection or rather it's accessories:
The collection as a whole is very retro, colorful yet minimalistic in cut, the colors and patterns speak for themselves. I loved the variety of sandals paired to everyday looks whether casual or elegant, with or without coat, to shorts and pants. I believe them to be very comfortable also because of the slightly thick sole. The plaited leather jacket as seen in the first and fourth slide is simply amazing as well as the leather jacket in denim look! A novelty for the fashion house is definitively their new collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre; headphones wrapped in bold shades of its signature Selleria leather, with croc at the top of the line. This limited edition will become available at the end of this year to a probably very high price and long waiting list. Following Karl Lagerfeld's success with the Chanel S/S 2014 backpack, Fendi, too, emphasized on the backpacks available in bright colors, with a furry monster (see slide no. three) or in croc leather. Next to the backpack they also showed the Selleria bag in different leathers and shapes, an over-the-shoulder fanny pack (as seen in slides two and eight) and not to forget embellished clutches.
And the conclusion of the story: Better start saving now for this fucking backpack!
