Pool Time at Poppies, Bali
Photography by Moritz Lips.
Even though it doesn't seem like a destination that you choose spontaneously when you live in Switzerland, my trip to Bali was exactly that. Moritz had been in Indonesia at the end of January for two weeks to film a documentary. Now, one month later, the shooting continued, but for that he needed to learn how to dive, which was the main reason for his trip to Bali. Since he was there for a bit over a week, and also on his birthday, I decided to go to the airport and get a last minute ticket to Indonesia! So straight after watching the Oscars (turns out this wasn't the best idea when travelling for 24h afterwards) I drove to the airport and hopped on a plane with Etihad Airways. After layovers in Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur Moritz and I were once again reunited after New Zealand.
We were staying at the Poppies Cottages where, 35 years ago (!), our father stayed too. I mean, how strange / amazing is that? 😄 The Poppies in Kuta is like a hidden oasis in the middle of this buzzing district, located on Poppies Lane 1. You live in a small, cozy cottage with an outdoor bathroom - not entirely, but part of it is open. Every evening you fill out a card with what you'd like for breakfast and the next morning they'll bring it to your veranda. How about a muesli with fresh lychee, watermelon, passion fruit, papaya, mango, banana, pineapple and home-made yoghurt? Or some delicious banana and chocolate pancakes? *Drool*
Even though we were pretty busy with discovering the island and of course diving we had some time to hang out at the pool area where we took those pictures. Simple as can be I was wearing a white Jacques Britt shirt, a pair of swimming trunks by H&M and Moritz' Garrett Leight sunglasses.
