Yesterday I attended the 3rd edition of modesuisse in Zurich. It is an evening packed with up to 20 fashion shows, here to support the Swiss designers. For this occasion I decided to wear a SS 2013 shirt by Julian Zigerli, who I luckily got to meet on Thursday. I simply adore his prints and also for the upcoming Autumn / Winter 2013 season he has some amazing stuff for us!
Surely a high-light of this evening was the presentation by Little Black Dress, two designers from Zurich. Their green/red metallic fabric reminded me of the Burberry SS 2013 metallic-designs. Also their models were wearing a visor like the ones from Alexander McQueen AW 2012-2013. But those weren't the only influences from the international fashion tribune: The electric cloth from Dior's SS 2013 collection was used at Ida Gut, Asandri made fur gloves as seen at Altuzarra & Alexander Wang in New York a couple of weeks ago and Toujours Toi Family Affairs was also showing evening gowns with caps, also seen in New York at Hervé Léger.
Being successful as a Swiss designer is hard and even harder if you create men's wear, but Sandro Marzo really caught my attention with his simple and religion-inspired collection. And last but not least Laend Phuengkit: a great presentation, slightly asia-ispired with ethno printed pants, beautiful jewelry and some amazing wedges.
Modesuisse truly is a good platform for Swiss designers, but it also brings together bloggers, photographers, models, and others from the fashion industry!
