Probably the most made resolution for the New Year is to be sportier, meaning to get a gym membership, go there regularly until February and then never return. Right?
I did that, too, no arguing. But after I attended a running training with adidas about two years ago, I stopped going to the gym and went outside for a run instead. Since then I have more or less continued my training on a regular basis, which has not only improved my asthma, but also my overall fitness.
A big part of blogging takes places in front of the computer so I enjoy being out in the nature and breathe in the fresh air. When I go out in the morning before work it helps me focus and gain energy for the day ahead of me. Another great side effect is that you get to see the nature in all its four seasons!
The thing about sport in general is that you cannot take a break, otherwise you’ll end up where you started at - the motto is definitively “never give up”. That also means going out for a run in the cold of the winter, which obviously takes a bit more motivation. Luckily the improvements on sportswear have been huge the past couple of years so there is no reason to layer anymore when you're going out for a run near 0 degrees. adidas, for example, has introduced the Climaheat collection, working with new fabrics that will keep you warm & dry, but still let you breathe (and sweat for that matter) during your workout. Now there is definitively no excuse anymore to skip the training!
