As you may have seen on our social media Moritz and I were invited to stay at the Hotel Royal Savoy in Lausanne for the weekend. It was reopened after five years of refurbishing this once so glorious hotel in which the likes of the King of Spain or Thailand used to reside. The hotel was bought in 2009 by the Katara Hospitality, a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority, and is operated by the Bürgenstock Selection since its opening in November last year.
It captivates by a modern, elegant and warm interior design by Maria Vafiadis and features «La Brasserie du Royal» with a traditional French brasserie cuisine and a focus on local products, a lounge / lobby bar and cigar lounge. During our stay we unfortunately weren’t able to experience the 1,500 sqm spa area as well as the «Sky Lounge» on the 7th floor with a 360 degrees panoramic view over Lausanne that are both due to open in the course of 2016.
After a full schedule of a lunch get-together, discovering Lausanne, a tour around the hotel, drinks and dinner on Saturday we were able to shoot at the Royal Savoy Suite, situated on the 4th floor of this 1909-building. The majestic and elegant 120 sqm suite stuns with a bedroom, walk-in closet, bathroom with rain shower and a large bathtub, a lounge with large office desk and seperate dining room for up to 10 guests. I decided to wear a casual-elegant springlike look with a plaid blazer, beige trousers and bordeaux patent leather loafers that perfectly matches a weekend in style at the Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne.
