Lanzarote Photo Diary

Last week I came home from a week well spent on Lanzarote, Spain. My 92 year old grandma spends her winter's there and it's always a pleasure to escape the European winter and come see her!

On Saturday we would visit the Jameos del Agua - another fantastic creation of César Manrique. It is a cave that is part of the lava tube he turned into a tourist attraction. You start by descending from the stairs into the cave where the restaurant is located. From there you have a stunning view on to the lake - a lake where almost no light falls on, which caused the indigenous crabs to be albino's. You continue by walking along the lake, which is absolutely clear and full of those tiny albino crabs to the other side where you walk up the stairs again end in an arena-kind-of stone formation where César built a super artificial pool. It really looks like something out of a James Bond movie. The other highlight is definitively the concert hall inside a grotto - it already looked awesome and I'm sure it sounds too, so next time I come to Lanzarote I will for sure go to a concert there.

On the last day we went to the Papagayo beaches that are surrounded by a national park. Clear water, fine sand, beautiful views and a bit of nudity is what awaits you! Yes, nudity is allowed on all beaches on Lanzarote, so expect to see a pair of saggy tits and low-hanging balls 😜 Nonetheless there is something really special about this island, in particular the mix between the black volcanic rocks and the white houses.

This week I'll be attending a couple of cool events, do a fashion show on Friday and I got a cool trip planned for the weekend, so don't forget to follow me on Instagram: @mroliverlips or Snapchat: jorsevich (don't ask)! 👻

My beautiful mum and travel companion on Lanzarote!

Always with me during this week: Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack.

Incredible view from Femés down to Playa Blanca at the coast on the left side.

I sure miss waking up to this! We were staying at the beautiful Alondra Villas y Suites. Check out my Instagram video to see more of the house.

Simple look while hanging out at the pool: Ray-Ban sunglasses, COS white tee and Levi's vintage shorts.
