Flashback to our trip to Bali: On Friday after we visited the Batuan Temple, Wayan Adiarsa took us to the Tegalalang rice fields near Ubud. Apart from being an extremely touristy place, you also have to pay a way toll twice, which they declare as "donations". But it was still totally worth climbing up the terraces, because the view up there is stunning and something I hadn't seen before!
Ubud is about 900m above sea level and surrounded by rain forest, which makes it extremely humid, even more so around the water-filled rice fields. Therefore wearing light, airy clothes that still cover most of your body (mostly out of respect to the indigenous people, but also because of the nearness to the equator) are a must!
